Register for this hybrid in one of two ways: 1. Register for the IN-PERSON Event 2. Register for the ZOOM-only Event 3. Register to perform in Virtual Round Robin, Friday On Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22, 2022, the People's Music Network is hosting a Hybrid Fall Convergence, which takes place both on Zoom and in person in Manhattan at The People's Forum (TPF) -- 320 West 37th Street (between 8th & 9th Avenues) New York, NY 10018. The event begins Friday night on Zoom with a Virtual Round Robin, open to PMN members anywhere in the world (Note: to perform in the Virtual Round Robin requires filling out this separate Registration form). People participating remotely via Zoom may join select workshops taking place in NYC as well as participate in Zoom-only workshops. The in-person component of the event takes place at TPF all day on Saturday (10am to 9pm), featuring participatory workshops and song swaps in the morning and afternoon. Many of these workshops provide an opportunity to develop and/or practice collaborative performance pieces to be presented during the Saturday evening Collaborative Concert. Activities such as the opening ceremony, shared meals for lunch and dinner, a sales table for artists with merch, and built-in networking time are woven into the schedule to help strengthen our community. Zoom-only participants have the chance to participate in networking activities via Zoom that run parallel to the in-person networking activities. We feel called to devote our musical craft to supporting social movements for justice and liberation. The PMN/NYC Organizing Committee recognizes the urgency of the political moment we're in right now and our program connects the music of our members with six major areas of struggle:

The People's Forum is easily accessible by train, but there is very little nearby parking and what is available is so expensive that we strongly recommend using the train instead.
VACCINATION: The People's Forum (TPF) requires proof of vaccination and booster against COVID-19 as a prerequisite to enter the facility. However, if someone does not have the required proof, an exception to the policy will be made for the PMN Fall Convergence if the person presents their own negative PCR test result that was taken within 24-48 hours, or if they present a negative test result from a Rapid Test taken at the door. Ultimately, we want to protect the health of all of us participating in this event. TESTING: PMN requires that everyone attending the event does a rapid test on the day of the event, regardless of vaccination status. PMN is collecting a supply of extra rapid tests to be distributed, as needed, to people coming to the event who have not already tested on the day of the event. MASKS: Masks are mandatory unless eating, drinking, or performing.
PMN is delighted to partner with The People's Forum, which is hosting the convergence at their beautiful meeting space. TPF is committed to radical political education and using culture as a tool of social transformation. |
