Via Subway: The best way to get to the concert at First Parish is via the wheelchair-accessible Harvard Square T Stop. If you are driving from out of town, we suggest you park at the Alewife MBTA Station (flat rate of $7) and take the 7 minute ride on the Red Line to Harvard Square ($5.50 for a round trip ticket). Exit the Harvard Square Y Stop via Church Street and First Parish will be immediately visible.

Driving directions to Alewife Station.

Via Car: If you prefer to drive directly to Harvard Square and park nearby, the best way is to use a GPS. Those unfamiliar with the area may find old fashioned maps confusing. Please consider these 3 parking options.

Driving directions to First Parish.

1) University Place Garage (Cheaper with a short walk)

45 University Rd, Cambridge, MA 02138

By special arrangement, PMN concert goers may park for $10 after 5PM at the University Place Garage (discounted from $14). At the PMN concert ticket table, please ask for a yellow parking coupon, which you will give to the parking attendant when you leave the garage. As you return to your car, you will walk through the same door you initially drove through to enter the garage.

Walking directions from University Place Garage to First Parish (6 minute walk).

2) Church Street Lot (Expensive with almost no walk)

41 Church St, Cambridge, MA 02138

If it is essential to park as close as possible to the concert, the Church Street Garage is right next door, but expensive ($24 for evening parking anytime between 5pm and 5am)

Walking Directions from Church Street Lot to First Parish (1 minute walk).

3) Street Parking (Very cheap but unreliable)

It is possible but difficult to find street metered parking in the area. Meters are in effect until 8:00 PM.  Make sure you are parking in a public space; resident-only parking is enforced.

Via Subway: The best way to get to the Pierce School on Saturday and Sunday is via the wheelchair accessible Brookline Village T Stop.

Walking directions from the Brookline Village T Stop to the Pierce School (9 minute walk)

Via Car: The Pierce School has a large underground parking garage that PMN attendees may use for free. Enter via School Street. Look for “PMN Parking” signs.

Driving Directions to Pierce School

Our Friday evening concert takes place at the historic First Parish Unitarian Church founded in 1632. The current church meeting house, built in 1833 is located in the heart of Harvard Square – then epicenter of the folk revival of the 60’s and hotbed of progressive ideas since before the days of the Revolutionary War.

The Saturday and Sunday core of the gathering takes place at the Pierce Elementary School, which is part of the Brookline Public School system. Built in the 1970s, the school building uses an “open concept” design, which creates a sense of openness in the space of the classrooms.
